Which is the largest Pyramid of the World ?

We've been in İstanbul for two days and are now heading to Ankara, the capital of Turkey. After a 5 hours bus travel, we arrived there. Ankara is the second largest city of Turkey and has a lot of places for visiting but we couldnt see them since we had not too much time and we should go to the Polatlı to see the Clay Pyramids of Gordion.

Gordion - Polatlı/ANKARA

Pyramids are  in Yassıhöyük where located 28 km north-west of Polatlı City that is 75 km far from Ankara. Yassıhöyük is the name of the village near the old city Gordion.

Approximately 25 minutes driving from Polatlı, we came to the Yassıhöyük village.  Altough  we saw a lot of small clay Pyramids througout the road which belongs to the noble persons of Phyrgians, actually I had a lot of hesitation since I dident expect a structure fascinating like Midas Pyramid .After seeing that giant Structure, I understood that my choice was right.

Once you arrived at Midas Pyramid, walk pass the Gordion museum where there are many ancient goods, potteries and furnitures. In the museum you can watch a lot of  videos that you can find important informations  such as  construction methods of Pyramids or history of Gordion city.

Than walk a bit more and turn to your right, you will see the phyrigian's ceramic tiles just behind the museum. It was really an exclusive village since each place here has traces of ancient ages.

King Midas Pyramid
King Midas Pyramid is located just opposite of the Gordion museum which is in the East of the Yassıhöyük region.

 King Midas(Gordion Museum)
King Midas is a real peronality as we know from the ancient  Latin and Greek sources. Midas is seen in the Assur King Sargons' yearbook between the dates BC 717 and 709 as the name "Mita". These dates are in convenience with the dates BC 738-696 given by Eusebios, a Greek scholar.

Inside the Pyramid there is a long mystical hole which goes to the Tomb of the Midas.
